Zachary - Ct layout

This adorable little guy is the son of one of my dearest friends. We were at her older sons birthday party and Zachary was sitting in his stroller. His mom and Grandma were busy with all the festivities and I glanced over to find this guy crashed out in the midst of all the party chaos. I had to snap a picture and it went perfectly with this kit I downloaded for my Creative Team over at Digiscrapshak.

We've got the pox!

There has been an outbreak of chicken pox at Alorah's school and all the kids that have gotten it had previously been immunized. So I knew it was just a matter of time before Alorah got the pox. Sure enough she had a couple spots last night along with a stomach ache and just generally not feeling well. This morning they had spread all over her abdomen, face, neck, etc. WE'VE GOT THE POX! I can't stop itching just thinking about it.

This means no school for at least a week, no softball clinic on Saturday, no first practice on Monday, and on and on and on!!!! Also, it's just a matter of time before the others get it . . . insert MOAN here! Why do we even get the immunization anyway????

She won't let me take a picture of her with the chicken pox. She says she doesn't want it on my blog for the whole world to see her with spots on her face. I tried to explain that the whole world doesn't look at my blog, but that didn't seem like a rational argument to her. So because I can't do a post without a picture I'll put on up of her in prettier times.

Call me crazy, but I think it’s hard to find a family where the husbands get along, the wives get along and the kids ALL love each other. The Stewarts ore one of those rare finds. Jen and I initially became friends during my first bout at MOPS, we just had a lot in common, our ages, the amount of time we’d been married, our boys being born on the exact day and SCRAPBOOKING. Our relationship was cemented when the boys met each other and became fast friends. We were preschool moms together, had another set of babies together, we’ve done small group studies together and life has evolved. The guys started hangin and having a good time together. Jen and Chris have started an amazing photography business, and I’ve turned scrapbooking into a full time hobby. almost 5 years later we’re so glad to have found them

Upside down LO for my CT

Here's the latest and greatest that I've created for my Digiscrapshal creative team. Lot's of scrapping to be done with all these Creative teams :)

Journaling:
Sometimes you are more boy than I can handle. Whew, you wear me out and i just don’t know what to do with you. You see I’m all girl and you’re all boy, so I’m just clueless. You’re up, down, all around going, goin, going . . . gone! But you’re fun to watch with your boundless energy and crazy ideas . . . like swinging from my drapes! It may not be funny at the time, and I certainly can’t tell you it’s funny until you’re older . . . but you do amuse me buddy. You are my precious son, and thank God for Daddys!

Tour of California

My husband is a HUGE fan of cycling. Did I say HUGE!!! So this is an exciting week for him. The first big race of the cycling season is the tour of California. Sorry babe, I'm not sure how many days are in the race ~ 7??? They start up here in Northern Cal and race down to Southern Cal. But the exciting part for Hubby (who watches every stage intently each night) is the second day. They start in Santa Rosa and race into our neck of the woods. The finish line is in downtown Sacramento and hubby was there waiting as the racers crossed it. Here are a couple pictures he got. The first one is of the Pelaton (sp?) coming toward him, and the second shows the speed they're going as they pass him.

A simple valentines

Valentines was a simple affair at our house on Thursday. We don't typically make a HUGE deal out of valentines, we just do a little something special as a family. Our special thing this year was to have pink heart shaped pancakes for dinner. Unfortunately I don't have the mad pancake skills and I couldn't make hearts, much to the children's disappointment. But we all had a great time mixing up the batter together and adding in the food coloring. We just had a nice relaxing evening together, loving on one another.

Mikey and Daddy cuddling up while Pancakes were cooking up.
Alaina creating Valentines for everyone. We each must have received 10 valentines a piece from the "Mail Girl"

LOVES clothes! You wear multiple out fits every day all LAYERED. You’ll wear 4 different pairs of Pajamas to bed at once. You love all things girly ~ glitter, skirts, nail polish, foofy dresses, your glitter shoes, pink boots. You love it all. You are brilliant, you taught yourself to write your name all on your own, just showed me you’d written it one day. You love your siblings and especially spend all day playing imagination games with Micah. Your best friend is your cousin Mikayla. You love the shows Oswald, Franklin, and the Backyardigans. You miss preschool and all your friends there. You have a sweet spirit and a smile can often be found on your face. You are also shy and cling to me when we go new places. You have a temper streak and if someon hurts your feeling, it takes a while to get off your bad list. Your one special girl Wingnut

I'm a guest CT!!!!

I have some exciting news to share with you (my devoted readers, tee hee hee)! I just got an email today to be a guest Creative Team member for Mira designs.

For those of you that don't know what a creative team (CT) is , it's a team that designers put together to make layouts showcasing their products. It's a very, very big deal for me that a designer would value my work enough that she would want me as a CT!!! YIPEEE!!!!!

Check out her link, my name is on her blog announcing her CT Team. Can you tell I'm giddy :)

Mr. Independant

Journaling:
It hurts to watch you, my bab,y assert your independence. I know in my head how important this time in your life is, but in my heart it hurts. You pulled yourself up on those bales of hay with no problem. You said “I do it mom”. And I was saddened. There’s not much time left with you needing me for tasks. Don’t get me wrong I celebrate your independance and I’m not a mom that has my needs met through you. I guess the fact of the matter is that you’re my baby, the last one for everything and I want to be able to baby you a bit longer.

Photos with the kids

So I'm trying for Creating Keepsakes Hall of Fame Contest this year. The deadline for entries is this Monday the 11th (which I highly doubt I'm going to make BTW). It's a pretty huge entry that I have to put together and I'm not allowed to post my entries in any public forum (blogs included)! There are some pretty specific guidelines for pages entered. One of which is a page showcasing a photo (or two or three) that you consider extraordinary. I of course can't use a picture I already have, I have crazy dreams of capturing this extraordinary photo before the contest deadline (MONDAY!!!!!) I've had photo shoot plans but they've all been foiled by the rain we've had for what feels like the past month. So I finally have a clear day for a shoot and dragged (my sick) kids out for a quick shoot. My first mistake was going alone ~ I needed a child wrangler. My second mistake was dragging them out sick and into the cold. I don't have a single picture of Isaiah without his arms wrapped tightly around himself, shivering. My not so gentle coaxing to relax didn't work a bit . . . I wonder why. Of course I couldn't take pictures of them in their winter coats, cuz that's just not cute! I took maybe a total of between 10 and 20 pictures because Micah kept running to the pond and drowning would have seriously RUINED the shoot. Plus the whole freezing thing didn't quite work for any of us. So here are the only two shots worth showing. We'll try again on Thursday :)
