Micah's dressing himself

Well actually he's been dressing himself for quite a while now, but occassionaly he just can't get it right. He came in so frustrated the other day and "Needed Help Mom, NOW!" I just had to giggle and before I could fix him up I had to tacke a picture and giggle.

The latest adventure

So the latest thing to happen was a kitchen fire. I put on a teapot for tea and went outside to play with Micah for a few. without going into all the details because I don't feel like typing it all out :) The house was filled with smoke and there were flames in the kitchen. The smoke was too thick that after a minute of trying I had to go out and call the fire department.

We spent six hours last night cleaning. There was a layer of soot on EVERYTHING and the whole house reeks of smoke ~ Giving me a headache. So these are the pictures after we scrubbed it. The tile is burned, the cupboards are burned and the floor is burned. Then the walls & cabinets above are blackened from smoke and bubbled.

It could have been A LOT, A LOT worse, but it was still very scary to experience.

Oh how you loved your Lainie Boo when she joined our family. You called her “Waina” and wanted to hold your “Waina” all the time. We used to have to lock the door to our room when she was sleeping in the cradle in there. Because you would go and try to open the door, if you got it open you would just go and grab her out of the cradle. We found you once dragging her down the hallway and you were so proud of yourself. When Waina got older and was sleeping in her crib in the same room with you, we often had to intervene after bedtime. You would go get in her crib and jump around playing with her. We would hear these huge belly laughs coming from both of you in that room. You’ve adored your sister from the moment she came home. I hope it never changes.

Sure there’s the ocassional bickering and arguing . . . some days it doesn’t feel occasioanl. But overall you love each other and look out for one another. You take the time to stop and examine your brother when he says something hurts. You just care. It’s important to love each other because you’ll have one another forever. Siblings are a gift from God.
