Yes, my son had a blue mohawk. Me, the HIGHLY conservative mother of four
allowed her five year old son to shave his hair into a mohawk AND paint it blue. Wow, we got some looks when we were out and about. Some thought it was the coolest thing ever, others looked at me like, I would NEVER allow my son to have a mohawk. You know that look we all gave other mothers BEFORE we had children. Even my best friend jokingly asked me why I as fostering that rebellious spirit in you. I guess what it all boils down to is, you love what you love and I love you - extreme hairdo and all. In the end it’s just a haircut.

I love the way you poked your arm out the mail slot to greet your little brother and the way he reached for you. You are in a special position, Isaiah. I hope you’ll always reach out in love to your little brother and help him as traverses this journey of life.

I've been tagged

Ok so today I was tagged by Dawn.
How fun is that, I love stuff like this!

The rules of the game:
• Link to the person that tagged you and post the rules on your blog.
• Share 7 random and/or weird facts about yourself on your blog, we all want to know them.
• Tag 7 random people at the end of your post and include links to their blogs.
• Let each person know that they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.

Seven facts about myself….

1. I've fallen out of a moving vehicle.
When I was twelve my family had a piece of junk truck (sorry Daddy ~ but the rust was holding the truck together) and the door wouldn't always close all the way unless you locked. Well one morning on the way to church the door wasn't locked and as we turned the corner the door flew open and both my brother and I tumbled into the street ;0)

2. I love, love, love music.
I always have music blaring while I scrap, clean the kitchen, cook, etc. I can usually be found dancing around my kitchen or grooving in my seat while I scap.

3. One of my most treasured posessions I found when I was 12 (18 years ago). My mom and I were out and about in Ohio looking for Antiques when I stumbled upon this lamp:

It used to work in that if you put a quarter in, the lamp would turn on for the time alotted (sp?) but then my little brother jammed it full of quarters and it broke. Now it works if you just turn it on, but not by the meter function. I love this lamp, even though it's certainly not one of my husband's favorites!

4. I have a serious pen obsession. I can only write with really "juicy" pens. My favorite are inky ball point pens. Once I find a "juicy" one I hold onto it and use it till it's dead. My favorite ones come from RC Bank and if I ever wander in there I stash a handful in my bag.

5. My name is American Indian but I don't know what tribe. I was once told that it means treasure.

6. I HAVE to read at night before I fall asleep, it kind of shuts my brain off. My favorite books are Christian Fiction.

7. I love to enter sweepstakes and contests, I always think I'll win too. Don't even bother entering the HGTV Dream Home contest, it's already mine :0)

Storm Damages

Well we sustained a couple hits from the big storm this past weekend. We had one of our trees fall and take out the fence while hitting the neighbors house. Our Gazebo and a couple of our outdoor chairs are a total loss plus the fence behind there. Basically the fence on half our yard is now down. When the adjuster came out he also found some slight damage to our roof by the chimney. So all in all there were a few hits but no major losses as we are all safe ;0)

So this is your new thing. You make a telescope with your hand and peer around at the world. I often hear ~ I see you mom and look down to see you have your telescope out.

Christmas

We had a wonderful Christmas this year. Nanny and Poppy came over on the day before Christmas and we opened gifts with them ~ Robin always finds the most adorable outfits and shoes for the kids and this year was no exception. She found the most adorable pink cowgirl boots for Lainie and Thomas the Train shoes for Micah. Then my mom and dad (pram and Pop) came over on Christmas Eve and we celebrated with them. Christmas morning Mammy & Grumps came over and spent the morning with us having breakfast and opening presents. Later in the day we went to have Christmas dinner at Mammy & Grumps house. While we got to have two days of Christmas celebration it was a very relaxed and enjoyable celebration. We read The Night Before Christmas and sang Happy Birthday to Jesus. We talked about the Christmas story and Jesus' birthday. And we spent a lot of time with those we loved.

Look what came on Friday!

My prize came on Friday. Brown showed up and there was a thump at the door. I was showering and Ev came back to tell me that my goods were here, had to be the fastest shower in history. We opened it right up (Alorah & I) and put it to work!
