It’s always been these two fingers, from birth. We tried to give you a NUK in the hospital but
you wanted none if it! Now it’s become a hard habit to break. We’ve warned you that your fingers will fall off, but you just laughed and say NOOO Daddy! That was until the time we were grocery shopping and saw a boy missing two fingers, it made you think!

Almost exactly six months apart in age and you’ve always been the best of friends. You love each other dearly and sometimes fight like cats and dogs. You both have strong personalities but in such different ways, it’s fun to watch the two of you interact. I remember being pregnant with you, Lainie Lou and being so excited that you would have a cousin close in age. What a blessing that you are both girls. Add in the additional bonus of living nearby and being close friends with your Aunt & Uncle, it’s a perfect recipe for lifelong friendship. I wonder what your future’s look like. Will you go to High School together, will there be many late night slumber parties, will you stand up in each others weddings? For now you love each other and every moment you spend together. I pray for your special friendship and your futures.

Mom's 60th birthday

We celebrated Mom's 60th birthday party a few weeks back and we did it up big :)
First all the girls headed up for a full day at the spa in Apple Hill (Time out Spa) which I HIGHLY recommend. It was a day full of relaxation and fun with our large group (9 of us)

In the evening we came back down the hill for a party with ALL the extended family at Mom and Dad's house. Dad had some really thoughtful touches for the party. For example he had purchased a fountain for Mom and had a bowl full of change that they had found in Trevor's personal possessions ~ he asked us to make a wish in the fountain using the change. Just a really cool idea. Here are just a few pictures from the day.

Dad, Dave and Jr. on the swing:

Daddy and Micah in the cuzzi cuzzi as the kids call it:

Aunt Lisa and just a few of her girls:
A rare picture of my brother Tom:

Mr. Micah swimming away. My cousin Kathy had my camera for a while and she was quite taken with my little guy. I think half the pictures were of him, and at one point she leaned over and said "I think I have a favorite". Now I know where to send him when I need a sitter :)

Doodlebug and Lainie swimming:

Nicole, Lauren and Tonya:

My dad also had plastic saucers out with candles in them. He asked us all to light one and float it in the pool, then when it got dark she would see how much she was loved. My Daddy is so thoughtful!

The Kids jogathon

First off I want to say a HUGE thank you to all of you that supported the kids in their jogathon this year. It was wildly successful and we appreciate each and every one of you.

They ran last Wednesday and as they make their loop around the school, parents mark their cards to keep track of how many laps they've run. I was one of the markers so I don't have a ton of pictures, but I did capture a few.

Here is Isaiah with his class before the race:

I can't remember the officer's name but he started off the jog for the younger grades (Alorah says it was Mr. McKinley)
Stretching out before the jog:
And they're off:
Isaiah ran 17 laps and was WORN OUT!
The younger grades jogged for a half hour and then it was the older grades turn. I think my favorite part was Mrs. Huffman and Mrs. Marques starting off the older grades jog with their beauty queen waves:

Alaina ran most of Alorah's jog with her. Alorah and Kendra both kept pace with Lainie and did great job keeping tabs on her.

Micah was funny, he ran BOTH jogs on his own. He ran for an hour!!! I would just be marking and there would come Micah bounding around the corner!

Alorah and Kendra heading in for a mark.

The treat afterwards was popsicles.

They always do a great job including the siblings and here is Micah's popsicle stained face. Wow, he napped good that day :)

The newest member of the Family

After visiting my mom in the hospital last Monday I had to stop by the grocery store. In the Safeway parking lot there was a lady with a shopping basket containing the most adorable kittens I've ever seen. The kids have been asking for months to get a new kitty, but we've been putting them off and putting them off. However, these little ones were irresistable!!! There were two of them left when I got there and now I wish I had taken them both home . . . but I picked out the little girl after calling and BEGGING my dear husband to PLEASE let me bring one home.

We brought her home last Monday and we've been calling her Baby Kitten every since because up until last night we were unable to all decide on a name. We put it to a vote and from now on we'll be calling her Angel. Here are a few pictures of our new addition :)

I put her next to my shoe so that you can see how little she is (6 weeks)
